My passing (passed?) Labryinth fixation + David Bowie songs

April 17th, 2009 (12:48 am)
current song: Daughter--Vienna Teng

Watched the movie on youtube sometime ago. Didn't think much of it then--can't say I love it now, but gotta say, it's got fic potential. That's what I've been reading, mostly--it's like brain bleach after my (mostly) crapastic week at uni. Yes, escapism is key.

Fics from here, in case anyone's curious. Now, what got me into the movie again? [info]shiegra's Interruptus and Carnivale. Go read! They are lovely.(Sucktastic reviewer is me, so I shall just leave it at that for now.)

On a related note, have some David Bowie lyrics and youtube links:

As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you
Every thrill is gone
Wasn't too much fun at all

--As the World Falls Down
*

You starve and near exhuast me
...
I move the stars for no one
...
Just as I can be as cruel

--Within You
*
[Non-Labryinth related]

We passed upon the stairs, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago

--The Man Who Sold The World

I feel like I usually can't quote David Bowie's specific lines--I need to listen to the songs as a whole. Other favourites:
Ziggy Stardust, Life On Mars, Space Oddity, Starman, Five Years, Oh! You Pretty Things.
