♥ Bloody fucking dog pig black-livered bastard from hell. I hope his face gets put on a porcupine.
♥ Particularly enjoyed, at time, priest-turned-shagging-fuckwit story. Is always so enjoyable when other people behave badly. Feel, however, that founders of support group for victims of shagging priest (because "women who have relationships with priests have no one to turn to") are being rather partisan. What about others who have no one to turn to? Should surely also be support groups for women who have been victims of shagging Tory ministers, members of British national sporting teams who have slept with members of the Royal family, Romans Catholics clergy who have slept with celebrities or members of the Royal family, and celebrities who have slept with members of the public who have confessed their story to members of the Roman Catholic clergy who have then sold the story to the Sunday papers.
♥ "The worst you and Shaz could be accused of was breathtaking stupidity," he said. "You did very well in jail, I heard."
♥ If only could be like Mum and just have confidence in self and not worry what anyone else is thinking, but that is very hard when you know that someone else is thinking about you. They're thinking about how to kill you.
♥ 138 lbs, alcohol units 6, cigarettes 45, calories 5,732, chocolate tree decorations 132, cards sent - Oh, God, hell, beelzebub and all his subpoltergeists.
♥ Harry Christmas to my dearest, dearest Ken. I have so appreciated all your kindness this year. You are a wonderful, wonderful person, so strong, and clear-sighted and good with figures. Although we have had our ups and downs, it is so important not to hold on to resentment if one is to grow. I feel very close to0 you now, both as a professional, and as a man.
With real love,
Bridget.
♥ "What's that strange smell? What in the name of arse is that?"
I followed his gaze. Christmas tree in truth did not look as good as remembered. Had chopped off top and tried to trim rest into traditional triangular shape but now, in middle of room, was tall thin shorn thing with blunt edges like every bad cheap pretend tree from discount store.

yay?
I hope that this works. I have issues with the beginning, and I wish some things were clearer, and I had some trouble with positions. So, sorry if it does not work! -^.^-‘
Tell me if it’s confusing, k? I do not mind constructive criticism whatsoever. In fact, I welcome it! Bring on the nitpickers please! ^-^
Hope You Enjoyed It!
Sorry, I babble when I’m nervous…shutting up now.
In response to the challenge mayura_4_loki posted here, I wrote a fic! It's got the whole nine, our favorite pair with plenty of UST and half-nekkidness and . . . um . . . rope. I had so much fun torturing Roy writing this! But I have to post it now or I will continue to obsess over every word to the detriment of other things I have to get done. It didn't come out quite as well as I'd hoped, but I still rather like it :3

I polished off one of my EOY Fic Finishing Track fic this evening: No Good Here, a Numb3rs fic. It's been a thorn in my side since early October, an ill-advised post-ep piece that was supposed to be a quickie but ended up over 6K in length. /headdesk/ (Don't you hate it when bunnies go all epic on you?)
I decided tonight that I wasn't going to even try to publish it this year and that simple decision (and I never said I wasn't going to finish it, just not publish it) loosened the block on it and allowed me to get new words, see a new direction that wasn't what I had envisioned and finally reach the end.
Thanks to everyone at the comm who cheered me on, especially my First Reader
t_vo0810 and my slashwife
melissima! And good luck to everyone else still working on their December fic!

Guys, we've taken down a few posts here in the comm, and we'd like to ask you all to chill out a bit, and let us do so as well.
This has been a huge, huge effort. I'll write up more details about the technical process that went into moving Yuletide and the supporting code once I have some time to breathe, but it's taken a ton of work to make Yuletide happen at all this year.
Some things are going to be different. Some of these differences are temporary -- this year, the priority was to build a good, solid, stable codebase, one that can support Yuletide at its present size and sustain it into the future. Unfortunately this means some of the bells and whistles that I could just throw into the old kludgy code without thinking much about the design or the maintainability (because the old kludgy code was a mess anyway), are not around this year. They and/or other bells and whistles will return in future -- this year was all about building the fundamentals.
As always -- the point of Yuletide is to come together in a big group and celebrate our obscure fannish loves, to enjoy stories written for us and for others, and to enjoy writing stories that make people happy. Of course we all hope to have our stories appreciated -- but we don't guarantee that side or try to. What we can promise you is, as long as you get your story in on time, there will be a shiny story of your requesting up in the archive on December 25, in a fandom that you love and don't get enough of.
That's our priority as mods. We like to find things that make people enjoy the experience more, but not at the cost of this central priority, and not at the cost of our own sanity.
This year, with the surge in our size, we have had to assign roughly 270 pinch hits total. That's bigger than most exchanges are at all, and more than half of these stories have to get done in the space of two days. We need to prioritize covering those pinch hits. The fact that this happens at all is due to the amazing generosity and energy of this community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who pitches in, and to everyone who throws in a treat or two, not least because those treats can make the difference between elyn and me getting to open the archive at midnight and enjoy our own Yuletide, and scrambling in desperation to find people to write ten stories in obscure fandoms when it's 2am and a handful of pinch hits haven't come in, or we belatedly discover someone got left out by mistake.
We invite you to put in your story notes that you were the originally assigned writer for your story, and maybe talk about what about their prompt you enjoyed and how it inspired your story. That's a fun and productive way to make your recipient feel that you really put effort into their gift, and doesn't at all diminish the generosity of anyone else who might have written an extra treat for your recipient, which just adds to the overall sum of happiness and fun. :)
This is my first post here even though I've been a member for a year--I think. Earlier this week, I fancied myself searching for dress up games. I was lucky to came a cross one that featured characters from Naruto and that the good thing about it was to that you have to dress up the characters by pairs. Just click the link if you want too check out the game: Naruto Couples Dress Up by *Hapuriainen.
These are some of the outputs of my play. Have fun playing!

Pairing: Gen
Categories: Fanart, Fancomic
Warnings: Spoilers for Dr. Who Season 1 and Torchwood COE
Artist on DA: lady-de-macabre
Author on LJ: n/a

Review: As I'm sure any fan of CEO fix-it fics can tell you the hard part is finding a fix that is believable. This little comic and its accompanying fic are based on one of the crackies fixes I've seen but surprisingly one of the most believable, at least if you've seen Dr. Who Season 1.

Torchwood CoE REAL Ending [Fic]
Story: Sure Thing, Mr Schue
Author: cruiscin lan
Fandom: Glee
Genre: Family/Drama
Pairing/Character: Quinn, Will
Summary: When Quinn's secret comes to light, she feels like the whole world hates her, but fortunately she finds support from someone she'd never have expected it from.
Squeeing: This story was written prior to the final ep of the fall season, but I still adore it - it's got a Quinn and Will I really like. It manages to stay gen (which I also liked), while showing how another type of important relationship can be developed. A very well-told second person tale.
Excerpt: "Quinn, I'm so sorry," he says, but you're not sure why he's the one apologizing. "Do you need a ride home?"
The question takes you off-guard, and before you can think, you can hear yourself saying "I don't really have one."
"A ride?" Mr. Schue asks. "Or a home?"
Suddenly you can't stop crying.

Review: This is a little six page comic that follows the Chibi Watchmen as they play pretend with Dan's "Owlship"[aka the boxes of doom]. It's a very cute series with a funny ending.

Story: This Is The Morning
Author:
beatrice_otter
Fandom: Buffy/Narnia
Genre: Crossover
Pairing/Character: Buffy, Peter
Summary: “I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here.”
Squeeing: Buffy meets the joy of living in Aslan's "real world." I never would have thought of this concept, but it works.
Excerpt: She was dead.
After the first shock, she had been too happy to care, much. She hadn’t expected that. Having spent most of her life dealing with the reality of Hell, the possibility of Heaven wasn’t one she’d thought much about.

New stuff--
Monster by Urasawa Naoki: as;dlfkja;ldsfja;ld like my new favorite manga ever bwee~ I have no words for it. Just. READ IT. It does such a fantastic job of delving into the human psyche and what makes us human. Conspiracy and murder and family and fear and awesomeness. :DD Also, the anime's OP is gorgeous (haven't seen it, I hear it's very faithful to the original material).
Pluto, also by Urasawa Naoki: on robots, the killing of robots, and their place in the world. It's adapted from a story arc in Astro Boy, and while a tad sentimental in some places (mainly I'm thinking of the robot & pianist side story), it was still a well-done piece imo. Also, Atom is SO ADORABLE.
I am planning to read more of Urasawa's stuff sometime (Billy Bat, 20th Century Boys). I love his art and his style of writing. *_____________*
Basara, a shoujo manga which I actually found myself liking, despite the fact that I usually do not like shoujo manga. Mainly it was the persona of "Tatara" vs. the real Sarasa, and the conflict in that situation, which appealed to me; also, Asagi and the Red King can be such Ruthless Bastards. >D I am rather fond of Ruthless Bastards.
The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982): PERCY BLAKENEY WHY SO AMAZING? The actor pulls off the perfect mix of intelligence and utter silliness, depending on the situation. :D I adore the depiction, and the droll usage of "Sink me!" and his lame rhyming attempts--and then when he switches to the smart, serious persona, the contrast is astonishing. *__* Poor Chauvelin (played by Ian McKellen), he's always getting outsmarted.
Mirrormask (2005): An utterly gorgeous fantasy film. Honestly, the first time I watched this I didn't remember much of the story; all I could think of were the visuals. The story itself is a bit on the vague side; some of the lines are priceless, though. And once again, the visuals... *____* I watched this with friends, and everyone agreed that the movie was totally on LSD, and totally awesome.
Emma (BBC 2009): First adaptation of Emma that I've watched, and one that I really like. It's really Romola Garai who carries the series for me as Emma; they modernized gestures a little, but I don't think it detracted too much from the adaptation.
Mansfield Park (1999): A decent adaptation, considering the novel is not among the most well-liked of Austen's writings. Henry Crawford is surprisingly sympathetic, and I felt quite sorry for him; Edmund's criticism of Mary Crawford was also fairly well done. All in all, much better than the 2007 adaptation which I thought was just horrible. >_>
Queen Seon Duk: Introduced to this kdrama by
fujiko1601; I watched 21 episodes around the time of my 2nd midterms--very risky, and not something I want to do again, but the story was so addictive, and so time-consuming. By sheer self-control, I stopped myself at ep. 21, and since then I watch random parts of random episodes to keep track of the story. I've fallen behind on this in the last few weeks, but plan to catch up with it. My favorite character is definitely Mishil (the schemer! >D); shall not spoil anything here, but oh Mishil. >D
Story: Oh God Not Again!
Author: Sarah1281
Fandom: Harry Potter
Genre: Humor/Parody
Pairing/Character: Harry
Summary: So maybe everything didn't work out perfectly for Harry. Still, most of his friends survived, he'd gotten married, and was about to become a father. If only he'd have stayed away from the Veil, he wouldn't have had to go back and do everything AGAIN.
Squeeing: This fic sent me into delighted giggles every time a new section came out. This fic is part-parody of "Harry Travels Back In Time" cliches, along with a healthy dose of cynicism toward the HPverse as a whole. Lots of really fun scenes and it's a wild romp which fixes most of what goes bad in very ironic ways.
Excerpt: Oh boy. This was going to be a LONG seven years.

I feel pathetically out of the loop and an awful fan, but I just learned about the Bowie Ball that happened in NYC this month. Since I obviously didn't go, I was wondering if anyone had pictures that would allow me to live vicariously through them? Anything you have would be much appreciated to soothe my libido and psyche. Have a Happy Kwanzmaskkah.

He was only an elderly gentleman, hitching a ride on the misty wet Highway.
I asked him where he was heading, and he said he had no real destination in mind. He then said “That is beautiful music you're playing. Who is it?” I told him it was “Various Artists - Pick n Mix Volume 2 from a great netlabel called Faturenet”.
His eyes lit up with excitement. He said “My name is George Ripley, and I am the greatest travelling salesman who's ever lived! There’s nothing I can’t sell!”.
I noticed that he had a small briefcase on his lap, and said ”So what do you sell these days? Insurance? Pensions? Broadband? I'm just curious..”.
He laughed and replied “Oh dear no, my young friend! You see... I sell people their SOULS!”.
